Well we are in the Alice, Springs that
is, and have shot hundreds of pix at the Desert Park here and are
sorting the images from the Tanami and Wolfe Creek Crater - the
second biggest meteorite crater in the world - that's important you
know!!!
The desert was so surprising in that it was so well vegetated and
the car sat in cruise control at 100km/hr most of the way bouncing
over the corrugations and dodging a few road trains and seemingly
hundreds of 4wds!!
Got mobile range at two places in the middle of nowhere - I guess
for the communities and mines out there. A trip that has to be done
to understand. A great camp at Renahan's Bore - now abandoned and
then on in here.
Still in the Alice. Spent
yesterday at the Desert Park - another great NT facility
with excellent displays of plants and animals of the desert.
Bit like the NT Wildlife Park near Darwin and the Arid Lands
Botanical Gardens near Port Augusta.
Today is a continuation of
backing up files - 17gb of data for the trip so far! - and R
& R.
Down to 2 degrees last night -
the red centre can get cold!!

Trip goes well.
A few repairs to the suspension here in Alice.
We ''did'' Uluru, Kata Djuta, Kings Canyon, Palm Valley, West
MacDonnels and then off to the Easts and Simpson tomorrow.
More amazing Australia with the green red centre - the amazing
green plants on red sand and flowering shrubs all over - great
stuff.
Got some great black footed rock wallaby shots and more gorges
than you can poke a stick at!!!
I can see another book coming on!!!
